The Starting Point

A sales pipeline meeting without the pipeline pressure.

This is a weekly room for founders and professionals who do their own selling. You bring a live deal or a real challenge, and we work the thinking that comes before any tactic.

Tuesdays at 1:30pm ET Every session live No curriculum. No graduation.
Why most first-timers in sales struggle

You aren’t taught to sell until you have to do it.

You learn by doing, by watching, by winging it. By taking an online course, or subscribing to a YouTube channel. Following that path often leads to believing that sales is either a gift you have naturally, or a skill you have to master in the words you say and the tactics you memorize.

Neither is true.

You can learn all of the tricks and all of the tactics and all of the frameworks you want, and you will still have that little voice in your head. The one that challenges your thinking, questions your rationale, doubts your confidence, and dilutes your value right when you need it most.

The Starting Point was built to eliminate that noise. It is a peer supported and expert supported space to practice the real thing, with people who are doing the same work you are.

“The calls are literally the best part of my week, because I feel like I’m not alone in my deals.”

What it’s costing you

Figuring out sales alone is not free. You’re paying for it right now.

“This is a goldmine. Twenty minutes in and I was already rethinking how we sell.”

The four pillars

Every challenge brought into this room lives inside one of four areas.

They are not stages you move through in order. They are lenses. Whichever one reveals the pattern fastest is where we start.

1

You

Identity · Conviction · Anchor

Before you can sell anything, you have to know who you are when you’re selling. Not the version of you that’s trying to close a deal. The one that genuinely cares whether the person across from you gets helped or not. That’s your anchor. Without it, every hard moment in a conversation has nothing to hold onto.

2

Your Buyer

Motivations · Intentions · Awareness

Professional sellers don’t pitch. They diagnose. Before you try to move someone, you have to actually see them. What do they want, what are they protecting, and do they even believe they have a problem worth solving? Most people skip this entirely and wonder why nothing lands.

3

The Conversation

Discovery · Questions · Collaboration

This is the craft of the exchange itself. Not a script. Not a deck. A live, real-time process of uncovering what’s true and building toward a shared understanding of what needs to happen next. The people who are best at this have learned to stay curious longer than feels comfortable.

4

The Close

Commitment · Alignment · Kickoff

The close is not a moment at the end of a conversation. It’s the natural output of the other three pillars being done right. When you know who you are, you understand your buyer, and you’ve had a real conversation, the close takes care of itself.

“I came in with a real deal that had been stuck in my pipeline. A dealer who’d gone quiet for two months after receiving our proposal. JP’s advice was simple. He said, ‘You never actually asked about their timeline. Just be honest about that and ask them directly instead of guessing.’ It seems like a small thing, but it’s exactly the kind of gap you don’t notice until someone else points it out.”

“What I like about this group is it’s not just theory, everyone’s bringing real deals to the table each week, and you get direct, honest feedback in the moment. Hearing someone else’s deal get worked through taught me just as much as working through my own.”

“Every session gives me something I can go apply that week… not abstract advice, but a specific question to ask or a specific gap to close. That’s been the most valuable part for me.”

Before you take a seat
This is for you if…
  • You’re a founder, owner, operator or leader doing your own selling
  • You struggle to feel confident when you’re selling
  • You feel like sales is the dirty or cheap part of doing business
  • You worry you come off like a used car salesman

What you actually want is to walk into any situation ready to sell confidently, without becoming someone you don’t like.

This is not for you if…
  • You believe sales is just Jedi-mind-tricks
  • You want to improve your objection handling tactics
  • You’re looking for the latest in cold-calling tips
  • You value bro-culture as real life

You’re not going to learn how to overcome objections in a way that degrades your buyer into a victim of internet mastermind BS.

The room is already running.

Every Tuesday at 1:30pm ET. Bring whatever is in front of you and we’ll work it.
